St Pius X Catholic Church

56 Southend Road, Hockley, SS5 4QH

The church of Saint Pius X was built in 1953 as a daughter church to Our Lady Of Ransom, Rayleigh, and was served from there until 2004, when a reorganisation of parishes led to St Teresa taking over responsibility. During the week, Saint Pius X hosts Jelly Beans Montessori Day nursery, caring for children and families in and around Hockley.

The Parish of St Teresa’s and St Pius X has thus been serving the local community for nearly 70 years, as the body of Christ and in the name of Jesus, our risen Lord.

The parish is part of Southend Deanery, and is governed by the Diocese of Brentwood.
